“What does the path look like?” (the child wanted to know)
“It’s as unique as each individual.” (the wise one replied)
“However, there is one commonality–
The path is always a circle.”
“A circle?” (barely whispered)
“Yes. A circle.” (kindly, patiently)
“Human beings go out seeking answers
but, eventually, we find them back where we started.”
“Where I started?” (expectantly)
“Yes. (smiling) Where you started.
—Within.”
“Within.” (the child repeated, smiling)
“The light you seek, the love you seek
–all the answers–are there waiting to be tapped.”
(Then softly, fondly):
“Come, I’ll show you.
(eyes closing)
Be still and listen, Dear One.
